Dandalo Arch Bridge

This 9th-10th century arch bridge over the Acharistskali River is built of local limestone and mortar and is nearly 36 meters long. Its right abutment stands on a cliff, while the left one extends into the water. In the middle, the width of the bridge is 2.7 meters, and it widens near the banks. The Dandalo Bridge is one of the most complex structures in Keda - it is in the shape of a Latin S, and distributing the load on it correctly is a separate skill. The thickness of the arch reaches almost one meter - if you look at the river from the middle of the bridge, you will see the surroundings from a height of 8.5 meters, and the distance from the water level to the bridge arch is 7.6 meters. On both sides of the arch, there are double rows of cut holes, spaced 38 cm apart from each other, which indicates that during the construction of the bridge, the scaffolding was arranged in two rows. The Dandalo Arch Bridge was granted the status of an immovable monument of cultural heritage of national significance in 2006.
